Classical Concerts at the Aga Khan Museum
The Aga Khan Museum is collaborating with Raag-Mala Toronto to present the first of its series of concerts representing non-Western classical music traditions.
Saturday, Sept 24th 7pm : Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee (Sitar) , Soumen Nandy (Tabla)
Pt. Mukherjee received training under his father, Late Pt. Bimalendu Mukherjee, a doyen of the Imdadkhani Gharana. Pt. Mukherjee is masterful in the ‘gayaki ang’ (singing style) that the Gharana is famous for. He is a recipient of numerous awards, including the prestigious 2010 Sangeet Natak Akademi award from the President of India.

Warren Senders is a Hindustani classical singer, musical systems theorist, and environmental activist. He has studied Hindustani music since 1977 and has been performing professionally since 1991. Warren’s singing is an engaging synthesis of various gharana traditions, with the most emphasis on his Gwalior-Jaipur lineage.
