Raag-Mala Toronto presents Pandit Uday Bhawalkar on Sunday, June 3rd at 5pm at the Aga Khan Museum Auditorium, 77 Wynford Drive, Toronto.

Uday Bhawalkar is a leading vocalist of Dhrupad, one of the oldest forms of North Indian classical music.  He spent over 12 years studying in the traditional guru-shishya parampara style under Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar (Vocal) and Ustad Zia Mohiuddin Dagar (Rudra-Veena), the towering pillars of the Dhrupad tradition. Uday performs regularly all over India and abroad and teaches at many institutes such as the ITC SRA in Kolkata and his gurukul in Pune.  He will be accompanied by Pratap Awad on pakhawaj.
