Presently he is receiving training from Shri Madhup Mudgal at the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya\, New Delhi. Samidha Joglekar \nconducted by \nManoshi Chatterjee \nSaturday September 11th\, 2021 at 11am EDT \n  \nFREE VIRTUAL EVENT  \nEvent Access: \nWatch on Facebook \nWatch on Youtube \n  \nSri Narendra Datar began his formal musical training in 1976\, under the highly respected vocalist Pandit Vasantrao Kulkarni. He came to Canada in 1984\, completing an M.Sc. in computer science at the University of New Brunswick. He has resided in Toronto since 1986\, where he has been active as a teacher and a performer of Hindustani classical music and other genres. Narendraji is also a composer\, and has won numerous awards for his singing and compositions. \nSmt. Samidha Joglekar is an accomplished vocalist who began her training in both Western and Hindustani classical music from an early age.  She has studied under her Guru Sri. Narendra Datar for many years. The recipient of several prestigious grants\, Samidha has furthered her study of the art form and has contributed her voice to many albums\, film scores and cross cultural collaborations.  She has a MClSc degree in Audiology and currently is an advisor and manager for the College of Audiologists & Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario. \nSmt. Manoshi Chatterjee has been on the Raag-Mala Toronto Board since 2015.  She is an educator at an elementary school\, and has a passion for raag sangeet. She completed her Sangeet Visharad and sang regularly for AIR in India. She is also a published poet\, and has made numerous appearances on TV and other media in programs such as “Cultural Journeys with Manoshi”\, in which she has interviewed prominent artists such as Pt. Rajan and Sajan Misra and Pt. Budhaditya Mukherjee.

His sensitive style of playing and interpretation is admired and sought after by a wide range of musicians. He has performed both as a soloist and an accompanist at prestigious festivals all across the globe. \nAndrew Kay is an acclaimed Saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist musician from Toronto\, known for his captivating performances in the genres of Indo-Jazz\, World Music\, Indian Classical Raga Music\, Contemporary Jazz and Improvised Music. He is among one of the first musicians in the world to perform Northern Indian Classical music on the Saxophone and Himalayan Singing Bowls. \nAbbas Janmohamed was born in Scarborough\, and brought up in Calgary\, where he began learning tabla at a young age. A recipient of an Arts Fellowship award from the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute\, he spent time in India pursuing his study of classical tabla. He is a student of Ustad Allarakha’s senior disciple\, Shri Prafulla Athalye. \nPresented as a part of 25 for 25 – Small World Music’s 25th Anniversary Program
