Sri Narendra Datar began his formal musical training in 1976, under the highly respected vocalist Pandit Vasantrao Kulkarni. He came to Canada in 1984, completing an M.Sc. in computer science at the University of New Brunswick. He has resided in Toronto since 1986, where he has been active as a teacher and a performer of Hindustani classical music and other genres. Narendraji is also a composer, and has won numerous awards for his singing and compositions.
Smt. Samidha Joglekar is an accomplished vocalist who began her training in both Western and Hindustani classical music from an early age. She has studied under her Guru Sri. Narendra Datar for many years. The recipient of several prestigious grants, Samidha has furthered her study of the art form and has contributed her voice to many albums, film scores and cross cultural collaborations. She has a MClSc degree in Audiology and currently is an advisor and manager for the College of Audiologists & Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
Smt. Manoshi Chatterjee has been on the Raag-Mala Toronto Board since 2015. She is an educator at an elementary school, and has a passion for raag sangeet. She completed her Sangeet Visharad and sang regularly for AIR in India. She is also a published poet, and has made numerous appearances on TV and other media in programs such as “Cultural Journeys with Manoshi”, in which she has interviewed prominent artists such as Pt. Rajan and Sajan Misra and Pt. Budhaditya Mukherjee.
